How to Hide a Bed in a Small Room?

Kyiv, “Misto Kvіtіv” Residential Complex

Smart Mebel has been creating transforming furniture for over 20 years, but this was the first time we received such an unusual request. Our client Anton wanted the wardrobe-bed facade to show no sign whatsoever that a bed was hidden inside.

The challenge was how to open the bed without a traditional handle. Our designer brainstormed and found a solution inspired by colleagues in Italy. The bed can be opened from inside the adjacent cabinet: simply open it and gently push the facade from within. In real life, it looks much simpler than it sounds.

Since Anton chose a modern minimalist design, we replaced regular handles with the tip-on system — press on the facade, and the door opens automatically. Inside, we added a soft headboard, convenient niches with LED lighting, and sockets for charging gadgets.

The result is a stylish, functional, and completely invisible solution that perfectly matches our client’s vision.
